The Society of Wildlife Artists (SWLA) 50th Anniversary Exhibition ‘The Natural Eye’ runs from 31 October to 10 November 2013 at London’s Mall Galleries. Sir David Attenborough will be opening the show, which promises to be an exciting collection of the very best wildlife art.
This life-size common iguana approx 4ft long will be part of the show. It took me many days to make. Every scale had to be individually modeled and claws carefully shaped. The iguana sculpture is ceramic and mixed media, which allows the tail to flex. Watching iguanas is fascinating. One moment they are fast and agile and the next they simply flop!
Also appearing in the SWLA Exhibition is a family of my award-winning warthog sculptures and a large elephant sculpture called ‘To Crack a Nut’, all based on observations in Zambia.
