Worldwide Art Safari Workshops
Nick co-leads art safari workshops through Wildlife Worldwide wildlife holidays. These unique art safari workshops combine early morning and evening game drives with animal sculpture and photography demonstrations and tuition. You will learn to observe, sketch and photograph the animals in their natural environment, inspiring a new appreciation of your subjects. During the day, Under Nick’s expert guidance and tuition, you will work on your own animal sculptures.
I did not expect to achieve an animal sculpture bearing any resemblance to the magnificent creatures around us, but I was thrilled with my animals. The decking where we worked was a magical space, our elephant models moving around us seeking out mango. It was a trip I will always remember!
India Art and Photo Safari departing 9 March 2018
Nick teams up once again with acclaimed wildlife photographer Nick Garbutt, for this once-in-a-lifetime art safari in India’s Pench and Kanha National Parks.
Departing 9 March 2018 for ten days of wildlife photography, art and sculpture, this tour combines morning and afternoon vehicle safaris (when light conditions are at their best) with practical demonstrations and tuition in the field, which participants can then interpret into photos, sketches and sculptures. Starting in Pench, we explore its quieter corners dominated by teak forests covering rolling hills, before continuing to a delightful lodge on the southern edge of Kanha National Park.
Kanha provides one of Central India’s finest all-round wildlife experiences, and is home to wild dogs (dhole), sloth bears and leopards, as well as tigers and also gaur, chital and sambar.

The workshops include demonstrations, technical instruction and a mix of group and one-to-one tuition. Demand for places is always high, so early booking is advised.
My elephant is sitting pride of place on a window sill and my wild dog looks very calm and relaxed by my table. I can’t believe I made them and neither can my friends!
